Vitamins And Hair Loss: What's The Connection?
In the ongoing struggle to find the most effective ways to fight hair loss, science has found a many factors that can affect how much hair you lose. You may have inherited a hair loss gene, but that doesn't mean that you have to sit back and watch you hair go. There are things you can do to slow down the process!
In order to keep a healthy balance of hormones, and especially to keep androgen levels at bay (free testosterones specifically) partaking in aerobic exercises on a regular basis are recommended. This can help your body find the right hormonal balance to set the stage for your hair to stay where it is.
Yet another simple and natural solution available is vitamins. The vitamins hair loss connection has been proven: Vitamin E is effective in helping promote hair growth, as well as preventing hair loss! But how does this work?
Vitamin E acts as an effective antioxidant for your body. It causes blood flow to the scalp, bringing oxygen to the skin there. This allows for the follicles to have the nutrients they need and the stimulation to produce strong, healthy hair.
There different vitamins available for hair loss prevention. Some are supposed to help prevent hair loss. Others contribute to stronger, thicker hair. Still others make the hair glossy. This is how making sure that you are eating a healthy diet can help to keep your hair thick and healthy.
Herbal hair loss solutions are also available. Some, such as polygonum multiflorum (He Shou Wu) and pygeum africanum are typical Chinese herbs that have been used traditionally to reduce hair loss. These can be found in some commercial hair loss preparations or can be taken in capsule form.
Saw palmetto is another very popular herbal hair loss remedy that is currently available. It, like some other herbal remedies, has the advantage to balding men of slowing hair loss and promoting hair growth as well as protecting the prostrate.
It is important to do your homework before you jump headfirst into any vitamins hair loss or herbal hair loss treatment. Be sure you understand the proper dosage and any possible side effects. And don't expect an overnight cure! Give it some time to work.
As with any vitamin intake, the best method is the natural method which is to eat foods that contain the desired vitamins. However, you can also take supplements of the vitamins or herbs you'd like to try to prevent hair loss. Again, though, it is extremely important not to overdose! As with drugs, too much of an herb or vitamin can also have negative side effects.
If you want to take vitamins or herbs in any form which may cause a change or disruption in your normal diet, consult your doctor before hand for his advice.
