Finding A Hair Loss Product That Works
Have you started to think you are losing your hair? Can you feel it thinning or see it coming out in your comb? Hair loss can be a very frustrating experience, especially when you feel that there's nothing you can do about it. But there actually many things you can do.
Some of the best ways to decrease the degree of hair loss is to get good quantities of aerobic exercise in order to help keep hormone levels, particularly free testosterones, at bay. Keeping stress out of your life whenever possible will also help to keep hair loss down. But these lifestyle changes alone may not be enough to prevent hair loss if you've inherited a gene.
There are other help sources available and you will find that they have more than likely been advertised on television or in newspapers or magazines. There are a number of hair loss products out there that claim to help stop hair loss and promote hair growth. But how do you know which hair loss product to choose?
There are two effective drugs widely available that have been approved by the FDA for the aid of hair loss prevention. They are minoxidil and finasteride. Both of these have proven effective in studies, but not on every participant. They seem to be effective about half of the time with varying levels of hair growth.
Purely because of the strict medical guidelines in the United States, you are not likely to find a name brand hair loss product that contains any drug that has not been approved. As a matter of fact, these two drugs are found in every top brand of topical medication for hair loss prevention.
Having the correct knowledge of which brand and what dose is right for you is something you should consult your GP about. It is best to have a recommendation from someone who understands your medical history and will know what might be most effect for you.
There are many other different hair loss products available on the market that people have found have varying levels of effectiveness. Some low level laser therapy (LLLT) devices have been approved by the FDA which help to stimulate hair growth. This is another thing to talk to your doctor about.
Of course you can always find a huge number of products available on the market that magically claim to prevent hair loss or promise to cause your hair to grow miraculously. Unfortunately they are not always trustworthy products. You could really spend a lot of time and money if you tried them all out, but it is best to ask your doctor what he recommends.
The bottom line with any hair loss product is,unfortunately, treatment and results will take time. You can't try one product and decide after a week that it's not working for you. Unfortunately, it takes months to see the results of many of these products. Also, what works for some may not work for others. Patience and time will tell if the hair loss product you've chosen is effective for you.
